Installing the Developer Edition components
If you are a BlueCielo ECM Solutions Developer Partner, you can install the Developer Edition of Meridian on client computers. This edition offers some additional component options:
- Sample Extensions: Sample Visual Basic projects as small examples of what is possible through programming. These projects are provided as-is, for educational purposes only, without support and are not intended for use in production installations. They are installed in C:\Program Files\BC-Meridian\Samples.
- Developer: Designers and type libraries for Microsoft Visual Basic. Visual Basic 6 or higher must be already installed.
Before you begin
Visual Basic is required to develop compiled Meridian custom programs and must be installed before the Developer Edition tools.
To install the Developer Edition tools:
- Begin installation as described in Starting Meridian installation.
- On the Select Components page, click the Server or Customized Setup button. The Choose Destination Location page appears.
- Specify the destination for program files. Usually the default folder is adequate. If you want to place most of the Meridian files on a non-system partition, click Browse and type the desired path or select an existing folder. Click Next to continue. The Select Components page appears.
- Select the Shared Files component in the Client branch and all of the Developer components. clear all other components unless you also want to install them. Click Next to continue.
- Complete the installation as described in Finishing up installation.
